It looks, feels and smells lovely, but the sound isn’t great. In the video clip, the D in particular is really lacking resonance. C isn’t that much better. So a little disappointed. Although it was fun to work out how to play SukiYaki!

Kalimba 8 Key Pentatonic Maple Hluru
Handcrafted from High-Quality Material
Introducing the Kalimba 8 Key Pentatonic Maple Hluru, an exquisite musical instrument handcrafted from top-grade maple wood. With its unique design, warm, resonant tones and superb durability, this kalimba offers an unrivaled musical experience, captivating both beginners and seasoned players alike.
Compact Yet Powerful
Despite its compact size and light weight (7.5cm x 12cm, 200g), the 8 Key Pentatonic Kalimba doesn't compromise on sound quality. Crafted with ore steel tines, it produces a clear, bright timbre, providing a soulful, mesmerizing musical experience. This easy-to-learn instrument is the perfect addition to any music lover's collection.
Generally speaking, the flat-board Kalimba produces bright and clear tones, standing out as the clearest sounding among different types. However, the hollow-body Kalimba is the most popular type due to its warm tone and long sustain.
The hollow design provides a unique "wah-wah" sound effect when you move your fingers around the soundhole in the middle, making it a delight to play.
On the other hand, the Acrylic Kalimba delivers a very clear tone as well. However, acrylic, as a material, doesn't vibrate as much as wood, meaning the sound produced by the Acrylic Kalimba is quieter compared to the wooden one.
As for the influence of wood type on the tone, it's not substantial but still noticeable. Importantly, the shape of the Kalimba has a more significant impact on the sound than the type of wood used.
Regardless of the differences in materials or shapes, the method of playing remains the same. Thus, choosing a Kalimba that features colour and design that you find most appealing would enhance the overall enjoyment of your playing experience!
A unique blend of musical enjoyment and a touch of creativity.
A perfect travel companion, offering music on-the-go.

I love this little Kalimba!!! I got the Camphor one, and it smells divine. Even with only 8 keys it is still heaps of fun to play. Even just simply strumming them randomly is very enjoyable. I love that I can carry this around easily due to its small size. Would reccomend having a little kalimba, not to play big songs on, but just because it brings so much peace just plucking away. The notes are very melodic!
Order came in quickly the Kalimba is beautiful and produce a very nice sound comes with a pouch, a lanyard and decorative charm pocket size, very convenient to take with you everywhere
Not enough notes to play a good piece of music 🎶 best to get the one with 17 keys.
Well built and brings a joyful feeling. Easy to play.
I got it for my pet Mountain Brushtail possum. He likes it. He is a musical possum. I'll record him soon. Each night he gets better at it!
This wee hunnie is a beautiful little instrument, very enjoyable, time disappears while im plinking away. Lovely sound. Beautiful to hold.
This was a gift for my friend who is a talented musician to have a relaxing musical outlet at work. She loves it and spent hours tuning it most precisely. She won’t use the pouch as she doesn’t want it to go out of tune! It’s small enough for her desk draw! Thank you.
Great
The tone of the little kalimba is so calming. I love it
Lovely little while instrument. Nice sound.
This needs more precision and skill. Not for little musicians.
Such fast shipping. Amazing item. Will be a loved gift I'm sure!
I really like this little 8 key Kalimba. I’ve bought this as a gift for my little nephew, it’s a good size for little hands. It sounds lovely. I really like the tassel and the attachable cord to be able to wear around the neck. Lovely timber. Happy with my purchase.
Bought this Kalimba for our Bad Secret Santa family Christmas. Not only was it a hit, it was the present most fought over! Brilliant! Thank you!
Well, I bought this as a christmas present for my grandaughter, but tried it out, withh pleasant results. I just might buy another for myself.
I am happy with my Kalimba. The service from this site is very good. My product arrived within a few days of ordering it.
My daughter loves it and my bird loves the sound, she plays daily
Love this instrument - looks good and sounds great . . . Makes for a lovely gift, easy and fun to play. Also the company is exceptional to work with should you have any queries.
I'm loving my little Kalimba. Easy to play and sounds lovely. Wishing I had purchased a bigger one but it's on the top of my wish list for next purchase.
Lovely sound.
wonderful musical adventure for wherever you might find your self..🙂
I sought out this instrument, the Kalimba, on the back of an infant TV program on ABC iView, Moon and Me. My son loves that TV show, and he is 15 months old. I thought, wouldn't it be nice to play the instrument that the story's main character plays to him, his magical Kalimba? Well, the GECKO 8 Key Pentatonic is fantastic for that. It's even tuned the same way as the show. I can play most of the show's music from my ear now, and it is a great distraction aid when he is being rowdy and a fantastic way to introduce him to another musical instrument that isn't a percussion instrument. 5 out of 5 stars.
With no musical background at all, it was a great opportunity to be able to play a musical instrument. Only wish I know where to find more music to play with this limited range. Thank you.
We love our kalimba. The kids can't play a bad tune and it is so calming.
Mahogany 8-key is a nice way to start playing the Kalimba. One can make nice tunes from Day One.
Great sounding, great smelling. Made nice little tunes on it. Will be sending it off to my little grandaughter.
I bought 2 for Xmas presents, so haven’t used them but they are lovely and packaged well n look a quality product.
Beautifully presented, timely delivery. Delightful little instrument, I am sure it will delight.
Such a beautiful gift! I gave it to my brother as a birthday present, and he loved it! It sounds and looks amazing. Thank you.
purchased as a gift and they love it.
It was for my little granddaughter and she loved it!
This beautiful little instrument has been a great addition to the instruments used in music therapy interventions within my counselling practice. My younger clients choose the 8 key Kalimba for calming and these smaller instruments are great for the portability-in school bags, the car, easy on little hands. A really useful addition to the 17 key larger Kalimba -they play together beautifully.
A bit disapointed Product is good and delivery went smoothly, however, I was disappointed when I realised that most examples of songs you show on your website I can't play with the 8 Key Kalimba! I had no idea, otherwise I would have bought another one... There's not much I can play with the 8 key one, which is a real shame. Inae
Kalimba Mini 8 Key It was very well received by my grandchild. Thank you.
