Hluru kalimba has exquisite workmanship with the most interesting designs. This new model has two layers that are handmade with high-quality American walnut wood & maple wood. This kalimba is a combination of flat-board and hollow body kalimba, it has the advantages of both shapes.
Walnut yields excellent balance and comes with tonal characteristics that fall between rosewood and mahogany. Walnut also starts off a little deeper on the low end, initially giving it a slightly woodier sound than koa. The low notes on this model are refreshing and ethereal. The double-layered design ensures a well-balanced tone and crisp clear end tines.
Keys are made of ore steel tines that provide a bright and clear timbre. The key touch is a bit softer compared to other brands, which is more comfortable to play and suitable for beginners.

Warm tone with longer sustain. The most popular choice, with a soft “wah-wah” effect when you play around the soundhole.
Acrylic Kalimba
Clear tone, but quieter. Acrylic doesn’t resonate like wood, so the sound is softer.
