About Baran

Baran Yildiz is a Sydney & Blue Mountains–based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and one of Australia’s most recognised handpan players.

With a background in classical piano and jazz drums, his work blends musical traditions from Anatolia, the Middle East, and Africa with a contemporary approach to handpan, piano, and percussion. His music explores layered melodies, rhythm, and expression, pushing the boundaries of the instrument beyond its intuitive surface.

Baran has released two albums — Interbeing (2019) and Bridging Worlds (2023) — and regularly performs at festivals and venues across Australia.
